We will be holding out second Supporters Group food bank collection initiative this Saturday when Crewe entertain Notts County.

As a supporters group we want to reach out to the wider community and embrace the ethos of the football club being at the heart of the community.

Supporters Group Chairman Mark Beaven said:

We strongly agree with the Football Club’s & John Bowler’s philosophy of being a proud community Club.

In our first foodbank collection a few weeks back the response was staggering, the football family donated 570kg of food which is enough to make 2025 meals.

The supporters group is asking fans to fetch any non perishable items they can spare to the ground before the game with Notts County.

The collection point will be outside the main ticket office, we will be taking your donations between 1pm and 3pm.

Below is a list of items that the local food bank is in need of.

Potatoes (tinned or powdered)
Biscuits/Crackers (snack food)
Custard (tinned, packet or carton)
Soup (tinned or packets)
Sponge Puddings (tinned)
Rice Pudding (tinned)
Vegetables (tinned or dried)
Baked Beans/Spaghetti
Sauces (curry or pasta)
Fruit Juice (cartons)
Tomatoes (tinned)
Tea Bags/Coffee
Instant Gravy
Meat & Fish (tinned)

Milk (UHT)

None if this would be possible if it were not for the support we have received from members.

Food banks perform a vital function in a community and every donation we can pass on will make a huge difference.

We would like to place on record our thanks to the football club for allowing us to do this on a match day and helping us publicise the event.

We would also like to thank local businesses Gist and Mornflake for their kind support and donations.
