Last weekend saw the launch of our Food Bank initiative, a collection for the local charity St Pauls.
The response we received was truly amazing, everyone here at the supporters group are truly humbled by the support and generosity from all those who donated an item on the day and helped organise the collection.
We literally ended the day with vans full of donations, a remarkable act of kindness from everyone.
For everyone here at the supporters group it was a very humbling experience, we simply can’t thank everyone enough for their contribution, we are truly overwhelmed by the support the we have received.
Without you, the fans and the support of the football club and local businesses this could not have happened so all of us at the supporters group would like to offer our sincere thanks.
The day captured the spirit of a community club, the Chairman John Bowler along with manager David Artell and his assistant Kenny Lunt took time out on a match day to come along and offer their support. Thank you also to the players who donated items. We think this is pretty unique in football circles, thank you for your support.
Not only did we receive support from the club and its officials but also the local Police teams and Crewe Town Council Mayor Cllr. Brian Roberts.
The Supporters Group Chairman Mark Beavan said:
We were completely blown away by the support and generosity of fans, players, management, staff and the general public.
We received items donated from all areas of the football club and even accepted a delivery from a fan currently living in Singapore.
I’m not sure how we are going to follow this, but with your help we will do our utmost at the next event, which is scheduled for Saturday 13th April before the home game against Notts County.
On behalf of The Railwaymen – thank you so muchMark Beavan Supporters Group Chairman.
We would also like to thank local businesses Mornflake and Gist for there support and donations, again, without their help none of this would be possible.
